What are we going to do?
On 13 February we continue putting free software to use. This time LibreOffice, the free counterpart to Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., and video calling through a plugin in NextCloud or Matrix.
Last time we laid the groundwork: switching from the clouds of Google or Microsoft to our own Vrije Cloud. All participants went home with their own sovereign digital identity and their own place to store, share or edit files. Authentik and NextCloud, in other words.
The next editions are on 27 Feb, 13 Mar, 27 Mar, 10 Apr and 24 Apr. Each session we tackle one piece of software from your daily workflow. From email and cloud collaboration to ticketing, presenting, AI and bookkeeping. Always with the same approach: which FLOSS alternatives are there? How do you use them?

Our “FLOSS First” principle
Since our founding, we at Post-X Society have followed the Free Libre Open Source Software First principle (FLOSS First). For all our work we try to use open software first, on our own servers, on our own terms.
Is that easy? Not always. Is it free? You wish! Is FLOSS sacred? Nope. We too are not entirely free of Google Drive and Microsoft 365. Especially when we work with partners who are still trapped. But each time we then also discover that they are fed up with it themselves.
Hence this call to action.
Who is it for?
This series is for everyone who dreams of working without Big Tech tools and wants to turn that into action now. Or who wants to share experience. Small organisations, freelancers, activists, techies and non-techies.
You do not need to be an IT specialist, just willing to learn and experiment.
What we do not do: social media. There are plenty of other initiatives for that.
