A lecture series on digital innovation and responsibility, at the University of Applied Philosophy.
In this lecture series we explored what responsible innovation means in the digital age. We looked at how you develop technology that is sound, and who is responsible for it. From Responsible Research & Innovation to virtue ethics, and from surveillance capitalism to solutionism. Along the way we drew on thinkers such as Sartre, McLuhan and Habermas.
The common thread: technology is never neutral, and innovation demands more than just “can it be done?”. It also demands “should it be done, for whom, and with what consequences?”.
