How do you research manipulation and interference through podcasts, livestreams and TikTok?
Active; the final publication is on its way.
This project investigates disinformation in dynamic media: podcasts, livestreams, TikTok and games, rather than static text on social media, websites and forums. With a quick scan we explored the state of the art, and in a workshop and follow-up research we are sharpening the questions about the relationship between dynamic content and disinformation. Since 2024 we have been a partner in this consortium alongside Wageningen University and the University of Amsterdam, with support from the Ministry of the Interior.
Written text is easy for researchers to label, but dynamic disinformation, like in a TikTok video? That’s tricky.
